New ZWIN Theme for 2019: Building Blocks for Business

Debbi and Kathy unveiled the ZWIN theme of “Building Blocks for Business.” They created a tower of blocks to illustrate their idea. The top of the tower is GOALS. The next block? Time & Self. Then it’s Branding, followed by Sharing, all supported by Customer Focus.

Debbi builds our thematic tower…
Building Blocks for Business!

To begin thinking about the theme, they encouraged members to share some of their goals for the coming year. Members mentioned administrative support, point-of-sale tracking, CRM (customer relationship management), social media improvement, developing a website, and getting childcare as examples of needs they would focus on in 2019. We will look forward to learning more about how to care for ourselves and grow our businesses using these building blocks throughout the coming year.

Spotlight Speakers

Dawn opened by asking members to volunteer to sign-up for these opportunities to share about their businesses for three minutes. She wants everyone to participate and have a turn. This month, we shine the spotlight on Carla and Evona.

Carla Merrill is with Hasco Paving and Concrete. Carla’s business is located off Whitestown Parkway near the Golf Club of Indiana. Their services include concrete and asphalt paving; assessing, repairing, removing, and re-doing parking lots; and maintenance for these, such as filling and sealing. They work with property managers and commercial owners. She is happy to help members keep their paved property and parking lots in top shape.

Evona Watson is with Triple E Residential Property Management. She owns this business with her husband. They serve the Indianapolis area with full property management services, including identifying properties, assessing them, repairing, screening tenants, and evicting tenants when required. They are the only property managers with an A+ rating on Angie’s List. They manage everything from low to high end, and they include most services in one monthly fee. She says if you want to invest in property, they will manage it for you. They started the business as investors and will take care of your property as if they owned it.

Officer Reports

Cindy, Recording Secretary, asked members to complete a 2-minute survey about how they use the blog and website. She will analyze the results and report on it at the next meeting.

Nikole, Website, is taking over for Erica C. Together, they showed features of the site to the group, including the member directory and blog of monthly meetings and events. They also asked members to brainstorm about new areas of business that are open for membership in our group. This list includes:

  • senior care

Evona, Membership, gave an update on membership.
